Apple App Store: iPhone 5 & iPad 2 Boost Earnings in 2011?

Recent reports would suggest that Apple are in for a good year, there is talk of the highly anticipated iPhone 5; the talked about phonein the iPhone 5 meets the most popular network in Verizon, the perfect match. Then you have the iPad 2, which will be another massive product for Apple.

Whilst Apple will pull in a lot of your money for your purchases, the other thing that will happen undoubtedly is with more people using the kit, more people will want the apps. If there is a high sale of apps then again, this means more money for Apple. The app store earnings isn’t something that gets raved about, it’s normally product sales that get the spotlight. The App store is due to take around the $2 billion marker.

We believe this is easily achievable with the hype surrounding the two new flagship devices, but time will tell. The figure came from TechCrunch.com via BGR.com however what we are unsure of, is if the projected figure included the sales of the new Mac App Store. If the figure isn’t including the Mac store then the projected figure should change to incorporate it.

What do you think? Will the app store reach $2 billion sales? Let us know in the comments below.
