What the differences between ipod touch and iphone4 besides its phone and messaging function?

Is ipod touch can be an iphone?

In addition to the "phone/text" capability of the iPhone, there are a number of differences between the iPhone 4 and the iPod touch 4th Gen including display quality, camera quality, GPS support, and more.

You do not have to pay monthly for the iPod touch 4th Gen either, whereas the iPhone 4 requires a monthly mobile plan with a two-year contract in the US.

An iPod touch can function as a VOIP/Skype phone over Wi-Fi, but it does not have mobile phone capability over a mobile network.

For more details, an objective, in-depth comparison also may be of interest: everyipod.com/ipod-faq/differ…

Hope this helps!

  1. the battery life is also a great differences. iPhone contains all features of iPod Touch, and supports a very long  Phone time, so much larger battery capacity
  2. With iPhone, you can take photos
  3. iPhone has Compass which helps you find your forward direction
  4. the processor performance of iPhone is better than that of iPod Touch, as well as image display.IPhone 4 can hold more memory and I don't think iPhone needs wi fi like an iPod touch
